Introduction

  • Sanjiwani Australia Inc is an organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act, 1981. (Registration No. A0056564L).

  • It provides a framework for charitable events, fundraising and community participation.

  • At least $0.95c in every $1.00 of monies raised by Sanjiwani Australia is used to support health services in Nepal, through the Sanjiwani Public Health Mission Nepal (SPHMN).

  • A voluntary committee governs and administers Sanjiwani Australia Inc and ensures that funds raised are distributed promptly to SPHMN in Nepal. The members of this committee are not remunerated. Most have spent time at the Health Mission in Nepal.

Sanjiwani Public Health Mission Nepal operates in the isolated village of Ghandruk in the Annapurna region of the country that is familiar to many trekkers.

We need your help

Sanjiwani Australia is currently raising funds to keep SPHMN’s medical staff employed for a further 12 months.

During the last 12 months the clinic provided medical aid to 5,000 patients (for context, the village’s population is only 6,000 people). It currently costs $20,000pa to staff and run the clinic - this equates to $4 for every patient treated, or the price of a cup of coffee in Australia!! This cost is not high by western standards, but impossible for the vast majority of the people in Ghandruk. We need your help.

Sanjiwani Public Health Mission urgently needs funds for:

• Staff Wages

• Medical Disposables

• Medical Equipment

URGENTLY WANTED! 100 COFFEE or TEA DRINKERS

Please Donate and Make A Difference Today

It currently costs A$17,600pa to employ Sanjiwani Public Health Mission’s great medical team – a doctor, nurse and laboratory assistant. Materials, laboratory supplies and other minor incidentals cost a further A$2,400pa. This has been funded by sponsorship and donations but unfortunately our current level of donations does not meet the ongoing needs of the clinic.

  • Sanjiwani Australia is seeking new sponsor(s) to provide support over a longer term.

  • We are seeking 100 compassionate people that are prepared to support the clinic for one year.

  • By donating $4 per week (the price of a cup of coffee or tea) for 12 months you will be helping to keep the clinic open.

  • You will be enabling a village of 6,000 people to keep the only medical service that they have.

Give us a helping hand - donate now to this worthy cause and keep the clinic open.
